In late November 2003 our Senior Jazz, Senior Brass and Woodwind groups were invited to play in the Middleton Hall of the Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. It is a huge shopping centre, and the big hall in which we played had been transformed into a winter wonderland! There were thousands of people milling around - probably because it was raining cats & dogs outside! We had a great time, and played almost everything that we knew, plus a few that some of us didn't! We played carols, some pieces from last term, and a few pieces we had learned recently. Lots of people stopped and listened to us, and we got loads of applause when we finished each number. We even had our own Father Christmas, who doubled as our drummer! He brought with him a reindeer which looked remarkably like Mr Turnbull - this reindeer acted as our conductor for most of the bands as well! |
