Year 1 - Owls

Year 2 - Swans

 

This is the name given to a system of music education which employs the basic elements of music, rhythm, dynamics, tone and form. It is based on the Kinesthetic sense, which translates information between the mind and the body. The children experience a combination of listening and physical movements in the activities, developing and extending their concentration span, their ability to respond to auditory sound and co-ordination skills.

 

 

This class goes on to develop different styles of dance while continuing to develop the skills learnt in the age 3-5 groups. These include:-

modern

jazz

contemporary

rock and Roll

 

Activities include:

a) Creative music to movement using

story telling

imagination

improvisation

ribbons

scarves

 

b) Dancing

 

circle dances

line dances

games

 

c) Phrasing and Form

 

using ribbons

balls

bean bags
