Registrations - how does my child join KMPAC?

Firstly, have a good browse around our website - this is designed to give you a good idea of the sort of activities we provide. Secondly, just turn up on a Saturday Morning just before 9am! The admin desk is located just inside the main doors, and our admin assistant, Chris Stephenson, will be able to to chat things through with you, and suggest classes that you might like to try. There are usually members of the Centre teaching staff around at that time as well, they will be able to advise according to your child's level of expertise etc. You are more than welcome to pop in and out of classes to get a better "feel" for what we do on your first visit. Be warned though, KMPAC is very addictive - once a student joins, he or she rapidly becomes "part of the furniture", and stays with us until they are either snapped by by the County groups, or leave for University or to a job!

Before your child can attend KMPAC on a regular basis, he/she must be "registered" with the Centre. This means that the fee must have been paid, and the appropriate paperwork filled in. The paperwork is simple - it consists of a "Student Essential Details Form", (provides confidential information about the student - any medical conditions etc the Centre needs to be aware of, and emergency contact details) and the form appropriate to the method of payment. You can either pay at the Centre on a designated "Registration Day", or you can pay by post to the County Music & Performing Arts Service in Northampton.

Payment at the Centre

The first day of each term is a "Registration Day". On the first day of the new academic year, there are no classes running, and all the Centre staff are available to deal with enquiries and assist with registrations. This is a very good time to pop in if you would like to chat to any of the staff about what the Centre has to offer, and what classes may be best for your child, particularly if you are new to KMPAC. The actual registration process is very swift, and as we are open all morning, there is very rarely a queue! You can pay by Standing Order (for the whole year only), by credit/debit card, cheque or cash for the whole year or just one term. It is strongly recommended that you register on "Registration Day", as not only will a £5 surcharge be levied for latecomers this year, but past experience shows that there can be an extremely long queue on the first week classes are running! (The surcharge is negotiable for "new starters") Please note that Standing Order payment is not available after the first couple of weeks at the start of the academic year.

The "Registration Days" of the Spring and Summer terms are simply the first day back after the holidays. Classes are running as normal, and registrations are dealt with at the admin desk in the foyer.

Payment by Post

If you are an "old hand", it is a simple matter to register by post with the County Music & Performing Arts Service in Northampton. You will need to fill in the Essential Details Form, and the form appropriate to the method of payment. As with Centre registrations, you can pay by credit/debit card or cheque, but you will have to call in to pay by cash. Please note that only "whole year" registrations are dealt with by County - termly registrations must be made at the Centre. Also, as with Centre registrations, only "whole year" registrations can be made under Standing Order. All the appropriate forms are available for download - click here to go to a page containing them. Once you have printed off and filled in the appropriate form, post it - together with your cheque if paying by cheque to - The County Music and Performing Arts Service, 125-129 Kettering Road, Northampton NN1 4AZ.

There are special arrangements available for persons receiving income support - please ask for information at the Centre on Registration Day.
